1.      Assemble the LitterMaid Elite with the exception of the Disposable Waste Receptacle and lid.

2.      Plastic Plugs should be in place (for LME9000/S&T Package) in the holes where the Waste Receptacle Lid would be fastened on the LitterMaid^TM unit.  It should lock into place.  If the plugs are not in place, follow separate instructions  for plugs.

3.      Make sure that the Plugs are properly seated.

YOU SHOULD NEVER USE THE SLIDE & TOSS^TM  WITHOUT THE PLUGS TO PREVENT YOUR CAT FROM STEPPING INTO THE HOLES AND BECOMING INJURED.

 

1.      Take a standard size plastic grocery bag and make sure that there are no holes in it. (holes are most common at the gussets)

2.      Insert the bottom of the bag inside the SLIDE & TOSS^TM (Tray).

3.      Then put the top of the bag first over the lip on the rear wall of the Tray, then the other side of the bag up over the two protuberances toward the front, and over the front of the Tray.

4.      Try to “tent” excess liner around the sides to allow excess liner to act like a seal to seal any openings.

5.      Lift the cat ramp up to expose the side of the waste compartment area. 

6.      Make sure that the back of the Tray rests firmly against the LitterMaid^TM litter box.  Re-“tent” excess liner for maximum seal.

7.      Lower the cat ramp – the cat ramp should lock the SLIDE & TOSS^TM  in place.

8.      To clean, lift cat ramp, Slide the Tray out, Toss the contents, insert a new liner and slide the Tray back into the Litter Maid^TM unit.

PLEASE NOTE:

·        The hinged lid will not open completely with the Slide & Toss in place.  However this will not interfere with the raking/cleaning action, as the range of motion is more than adequate for this purpose.

·        The hinged lid of the LitterMaid, if removed, cannot be re-fastened with the Slide & Toss in place.  If you remove the hinged lid, you will have to re-fasten it with the Slide & Toss removed.

·        Placement on carpet may not allow the Slide & Toss to engage properly.

·        It is recommended that prior to sliding out the Slide & Toss to dispose of waste litter,  brushing off small bits of litter that tends to accumulate around the rim of the waste compartment area.

·        SLIDE & TOSS ^TM has a hinged lid to make it easier to clean.  It may be left unfastened.  Some customers find that this helps to "tent" the liner and obtain a more reliable seal.
